  72.             interface, such as a button or icon.  Sometimes they explain
  73.             what the element does; sometimes they give you hints about
  74.             non-obvious ways to use it.  If you find them too
  75.             distracting, you can disable them here by unchecking this
  76.             option.  We recommend that you leave them enabled unless you
  77.             are a very advanced user.

  87.             pointer is currently located.  GIMP 2.2 no longer gives you the

  96.             Startup tips are helpful hints that appear each time you
  97.             start GIMP.  You can switch them on or off here.  If you
  98.             have switched them off by unchecking "Show tip next time
  99.             GIMP starts" in the tip window, you can switch them back on
  100.             by checking here.  Whatever you decide to do, at some point
  101.             you should take the time to go through the list of tips:
  102.             they are considered to be very useful, and the things they
  103.             tell you are not easy to discover by experimenting.  If you
  104.             prefer, you can read them at any time by choosing
  105.             <span class="guimenu">Help</span>-><span class="guimenuitem">Tip of the Day</span>

  122.             web pages.  You can view them using either a special help
  123.             browser that comes with GIMP, or a web browser of your
  124.             choice.  Here you choose which option to use.  Because the
  125.             help pages were carefully checked to make sure they work
  126.             well with GIMP's browser, whereas other web browsers are
  127.             somewhat variable in their support of features, the safer
  128.             option is to use the internal browser; but really any
  129.             modern web browser should be okay.

  149.             selector, which you can use to locate the executable file
  150.             for the browser if you like, but in most cases it is
  151.             probably easier to enter a command by hand.
